Welcome to my homepage - Who am I?
My name is Zeynep Tuncer, and I currently hold the position of Professor of Digital Media and Head of the Media Lab at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW).
In addition to these central responsibilities, I am a valued member of the Council for Science at Hochschule Ruhr West. Furthermore, I am also a member of the Association of German Scientists (Vereinigung Deutscher Wissenschaftler e. V. (VDW)). Additionally, I was spokesperson for the Board of Directors of Media Informatics (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V., Fachgruppe Medieninformatik) and I am a member of the German UPA. Additionally, I participate as a mentor at "Mentoring Hessen," a project aimed at supporting women in their careers with the goal of increasing the representation of women in attractive specialist and management positions in academia and business. In my previous role, I was a Professor and Head of Media Informatics (Master), Human-Computer-Interaction (Master), and Digital Media (Bachelor) at the Wilhelm Büchner Hochschule. In this capacity, I also served as an Ombudsperson, ensuring adherence to the rules of good scientific practice in research. My areas of expertise include Media Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, Usability, User Experience, User Interface, Human-Centered Design, System and Software Engineering. Previously, I participated in the Flying Faculty Program at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and the Turkish German University Istanbul, lecturing on Software Engineering and Human-Machine Interaction. I served as the Managing Director of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center 1053 MAKI – Multi-Mechanisms Adaptation for the Future Internet at Technische Universität Darmstadt. My academic journey includes completing my dissertation, "Usability of Agricultural Engineering," to attain the Ph.D. title at the University of Hohenheim. I hold a Master of Science in "Barrier-free Systems - Intelligent Systems" and a Diploma in "Technical Informatics Engineering," both from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FUAS). I gained valuable experience at several companies, including Bosch/Siemens/Home Appliances GmbH, Daimler AG, Ford-Werke GmbH, and John Deere GmbH & Co. KG. My ambition is to continue pursuing my passion in research and teaching, satisfying my curiosity, acquiring knowledge, and ultimately sharing that knowledge.
